Scapa Flow
Scotland's Orkney Islands

August 7th - 13th, 2010

Wreck diving in Scapa Flow...
join Adventures in Scuba and Lana Taylor for one of the most unique diving experiences ever. Viking ships anchored in Scapa Flow more than 1000 years ago but the area is best know for being the site of the U.K.’s chief naval base during WW I and WW II. After WW I the German fleet was scuttled in Scapa Flow and the area has become an increasingly popular site for divers. Sheltered by the Orkney Islands, Scapa Flow is a 36 square kilometer body of water with a sandy bottom that lies, on average, no deeper than 160’ below the waters surface. Most of the wrecks in the area are penetrable and still have many artifacts within them.
