Scuba Diving is exciting and breath taking.
You are about to experience the beauty and fascination of a New World, The Underwater World.
Adventures in Scuba's course schedule is very flexible.
Take your classrooms at home online, then come to Adventures in Scuba for your pool sessions.
Choose from Monday evenings for 5 weeks; Tuesday evenings for 5 weeks; Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 2 and a half weeks; One Friday, Saturday, Sunday, weekend; or privately by appointment.
Classes start sharply at 6pm on weeknights and at 9am on weekends. Once you have booked your class you will need to complete a medical questionnaire to ensure that you have no medical problems incompatible with scuba diving. On the first night of class please provide your instructor with two passport-sized photographs of yourself, in color or black and white, with no hats or dark glasses.
The PADI Open Water Course is divided into three sections - academic knowledge development, confined water dives for skills development, and 4 open water dives for skills evaluation. Your understanding of the materials will be tested at the end of each academic session with a multiple-choice quiz and with a final exam on the last session of class.
Scuba Diving is fun and easy but is a sport that requires some water skill. During the course you will be required to swim 200 yards at your own pace using any stroke you choose, and tread water for 10 minutes. To achieve your complete PADI Open Water Certification you must participate in 4 open water dives conducted over a minimum of two days.
For those of you who prefer to complete these dives in tropical warm waters, we will provide you with a referral letter. For the rest of you, our AIS staff is happy to take you diving to many locations in Alberta or B.C. or certify you on one of our tropical dive trips. Just pick a scheduled time, and arrange for your rental equipment well in advance, as some sizes have limited availability. Your instructor will contact you with more details once you have registered.
